Some Interesting and Healthy Facts About Coffee

You're probably wondering over a cup of coffee about what's in it for you? I mean yes the coffee can perk you up in the morning and give you the energy you need for work or school or whatever. But I'm sure it would be a whole lot better if you see your coffee as some kind of healthy option so you won't have to feel guilty over finishing one cup after another.

So wait? Is coffee really healthy?

Well, a simple answer is YES. If you have time you can look up the many health benefits of coffee but I've listed a few that I find really interesting and all.

1.) Weight Loss - There are many ways coffee can help you lose weight you know. First is that those coffee drinkers burned 67 calories more than non-coffee drinkers. Another is that it helps in giving you the energy you need for a productive day of working out. Gives you more focus, improves your performance, increases your metabolic rate so you burn more fat.

2.) More Focus at Work - Coffee is probably your work fuel. If you're like me then you probably drink more coffee than water. I don't suggest you do the same because I honestly don't think it's good for your kidneys but drinking at most five cups a day can lower the risk of deadly illnesses (diabetes, liver cirrhosis, parkinsons) which can prevent you from getting any job done.

3.) Helps me with my damn allergies - I'm mostly allergic to dust. I mean who aren't? And I end up developing sinusitis and coffee is my only home remedy to such awful stuff. You see, coffee is a good constrictor. It constricts blood vessels and reduces the pressure.

That's it for now! :)

Starbucks White Chocolate Mocha with Whipped Cream and Cinnamon Powder

It's ironic that my motto goes like "There's more to life than Starbucks" and yet my first review is about a Starbucks coffee. Anyway, I've decided to write about this coffee because I thought it'd be easier to write something you've just had. For this instance I just finished my iced white chocolate mocha coffee that comes with a cream on top and a sprinkle of cinnamon powder. I usually say no to whipped cream but today I made an exemption.

Photo not mine because I really don't like taking photos of my Starbucks
drink. I think I'm too old for that. That's not my girlfriend either.

And you know what? I didn't expect I would like it.

It's not like I haven't tried this before but the cinnamon was just too aromatic that the coffee worked my taste buds good. The coffee itself was the average Starbucks coffee as we know it - sweet with an edge and gets bland when the ice melts - so I suggest you experiment with the free powdered stuff they put on the side of the counter. There's nutmeg, vanilla, cinnamon and chocolate powder. Surprisingly, I enjoyed my drink today but I still think that Starbucks will never be my go-to coffee.

Welcome to The Coffee Dude

Hi My name is Barbie. It's actually Dale, but since my last name is Barbara and my friends back in College say that it's kind of a tongue twister they gave me Barbie as nick. I was fine with it. In fact, I've embraced it the past three years. Anyway, I'm 23, I'm from Little Rock. and I'm starting this blog to chronicle my life as a freelancer and coffee aficionado.

You can expect me to write just about anything and everything coffee. I hop from a coffee shop to another, I travel quite a lot and with my love for coffee I've written several reviews about the coffees I've had. Stick around for more!

And by the way, there's more to life than Starbucks.
